Mimaki introduces ELH-100 ink.

LH-100 and LF-140 soon no longer available!
Affected models: UJF-MkII (e), UJF-7151plus and plus II, UJF-x042, JFX200 series, JFX500 series and JFX600 series
Affected ink series: LH-100, LF-140

If you own one of the affected Mimaki models and use the LH-100 or LF140, you should, over the coming months, the new ELH-100 colour system Switch over!

Of course, we at Modico Graphics are here to help you with that!

Here you will find the official letter from Mimaki on this matter

Further information:

  • The changeover for each machine can take between five and ten hours. During this time, your printing system cannot be used for production!
  • Mimaki is supporting the transition by providing existing customers with an installed machine with a free set of ELH-100s. Applications for this must be made through us as an authorised dealer.
  • Further details from Mimaki regarding the new printing inks: the colour gamut and properties of the old and new ink systems are said to be largely consistent. Slight variations cannot be ruled out at present. The scratch resistance of ELH inks and the flexibility of future ELS inks are said to be in no way inferior to the ink systems used to date.
  • Odour production is said to be significantly reduced (according to the manufacturer: -30%)
  • The launch of the flexible ELS printing inks will be announced in the coming weeks

If you have any further questions or would like more details, please feel free to contact us at any time.

FAQ on the colour change:

Why should you take action now?

The two ink ranges, LH-100 and LF-140, are expected to be withdrawn from the market from April next year and will then no longer be available. Together with Mimaki, we aim to transition our customers to the new, SVHC-free ELH-100 ink system over the coming months. We therefore intend to ensure that, from October 2025, all new orders for the affected machines are supplied exclusively with the ELH-100 system.

Don’t wait! It’s better to be involved in the initial changes rather than potentially face scheduling problems later on.

Why the change?

The LH-100 and LF-140 inks contain a substance that has been included in the SVHC list (Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern) under the REACH Regulation. Experience suggests that this will mean that goods containing this substance may no longer be manufactured, used or sold in the European Union. A ban to this effect is currently expected to come into force in January 2027.

Can you change the colour yourself?

Yes, you can make the change yourself (except: JFX200-2531, JFX500, JFX600).

Important to note: You can find links to the software you’ll need and further information here.

If you encounter any difficulties in connection with the changeover, please let us know.

Are there any guides to help with the transition?

Yes, support is available!

Is the ELH-100 already available?

Mimaki is currently working to ensure that sufficient quantities of the new printing inks are in stock. With the exception of the JFX200-2513 model (expected to be available in November 2025), the required ink sets should be available shortly.
